Refrigeration Technician – EWR Airport

$35 - $50 per hour

Senior Management

• Install new commercial kitchen equipment including dishwashers, conveyors, ovens, stoves, kettles, fryers, steamers, and ice machines.
• Diagnose performance of commercial cooking equipment through observation, testing, and setup.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment for troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring equipment to perform service on the unit.
• Lift, carry, pull, and push components and/or equipment to test, set up, or maintain equipment.
• Give and take written and verbal instructions.
• Complete documents to verify work performed.
• Work flexible hours as required.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Burn and fire watch certificates (plus).
• Knowledge and experience with plumbing, electrical, and copper work related to new installations.
• Diagnostic ability demonstrated through at least 2 years of experience and/or training with commercial cooking equipment such as fryers and grills.
• Proficient use of a variety of meters, measuring instruments, torches, and hand tools.
• Effective communication with the customer.
• Ability to work independently, under pressure, and without close supervision; willingness and ability to consistently work the schedule required.
• Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force (pulling, pushing, lifting, carrying) regularly and up to 50 pounds of force frequently.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, twist, and grasp to perform essential job functions.
• Ability to tolerate environmental conditions with extreme heat, cold, noise, vibration, fumes, dust, and poor ventilation.
