Commercial HVAC Technician, 3rd Yr. Apprentice

ABM is seeking a Commercial HVAC Technician – 3rd Year Apprentice to support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial HVAC and mechanical systems in the Newark, NJ area.

Working under the direction of experienced Journeyperson HVAC Technicians and supervision, the 3rd Year Apprentice performs increasingly complex HVAC service and maintenance assignments while continuing to develop the technical skills required to progress through the union apprenticeship program. This position is ideal for an apprentice who has established a solid foundation in commercial HVAC and is ready to take on greater responsibility in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repair, and equipment operation.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, reliability, customer service, and continued technical development while complying with applicable union requirements and apprenticeship standards.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Developing proficiency in commercial HVAC troubleshooting and repair.
• Understanding of refrigeration cycles, electrical fundamentals, airflow, hydronic systems, and mechanical components.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.
• Ability to recognize equipment problems and appropriately escalate complex issues.
• Ability to communicate equipment conditions and repair needs clearly.
• Dependable attendance and willingness to learn from experienced technicians.
• Ability to provide professional service in an occupied customer environment.
• Commitment to completing the apprenticeship program and progressing toward Journeyperson status.

Pay: 29.24/hr the pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.
