Gloucester County – Case Worker 1

Diocese of Camden seeks a Case Worker 1 to serve clients in need with care and dignity, offering tools for independence.

Responsibilities include:

• Reflecting Catholic Charities mission in all client interactions.
• Responding to client requests for information and services promptly, compassionately, and professionally.
• Assessing client needs, financial circumstances, and determining suitable assistance or referrals.
• Maintaining confidentiality and accurate case notes in the agency database.
• Tracking client and statistical data using Excel and Word.
• Participating in staff meetings, trainings, and representing Catholic Charities at state and county partner meetings.
• Collaborating with staff and volunteers on food distribution and program development.
• Assisting in training and supervising program volunteers.
• Communicating program issues to the Regional Program Coordinator and recommending resolutions.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of entitlement programs, federal, state, and community resources.
• Understanding of social issues impacting the poor in southern New Jersey.
• Basic knowledge of existing social services programs and eligibility criteria.
• Strong interpersonal, time‑management, and communication skills.
• Ability to relate compassionately with people in emergency situations.
• Sensitivity to culturally and economically diverse populations.
• Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
• Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).
• Strong written communication skills for documentation.

Education and Experience:

A bachelor's degree in social work or a related human services field is preferred; alternatively, a high school diploma plus three years of experience in social services will be considered.

Pay Range: $41,500 - $43,500.
