Job Description

The driver candidate will be driving rental cars between our area locations in the New Jersey and New York area. The position is based out of Port Newark, NJ.

Wage: $16.17/hr this is a casual job with flexible scheduling of 4-6 work assignment times each day at morning, afternoon, evening, and night. Drivers may work up to 20 hours per week, averaging 5 hours per assignment. Wages are based on trip rates determined by mileage; in cases of traffic or weather delays, the higher of trip rate or hourly minimum is paid.

• Drive rental cars between Hertz facilities.

• Operate in a crew of up to 12, traveling together in a passenger van to the next job.

• Move cars to rental, maintenance, or auction locations.

• Participate in work assignment process; be present physically to receive assignments.

• Accept that work assignment is not guaranteed, and within 20 minutes of start may be notified of assignment availability.

• Minimum 9 years of driving experience.

• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

• Comfortable driving in metropolitan area.

• Availability to work 5+ hours per assignment.

• Driver’s license currently suspended, revoked, invalid, surrendered or expired
• Conviction for Reckless Disregard for Life and Property
• Conviction for DWI/DUI/DWAI or other alcohol or controlled substance related convictions within the past 36 months
• Three or more convictions for moving violations within the past 24 months
• Failure to report an accident to the police or leaving the scene of an accident within the past 36 months
• Possession of stolen vehicle or use of a vehicle in a crime within the past 48 months
