Summary

Under the direction of the Central Stores management, you would be responsible for receiving and storing inventory stock items, issuing parts and materials to Newark shops and field locations, and maintaining an orderly stockroom and storeroom.

Roles And Responsibilities
  • Maintain stock inventory records to ensure that stock levels remain within the specified minimum and maximum amounts utilizing a computer as required.
  • Prepare requisitions for both stock and special-order items within one working day of the established need.
  • Receive and place into inventory all parts and materials delivered before the close of the working day on which they are received.
  • Issue parts and materials to shop personnel on a timely basis, compute work order forms and parts issue forms, update inventory, including cycle counting, and assist mechanical personnel in identification of parts as required.
  • Issue tools to mechanical personnel as required and account for their use and return.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, safe, and orderly stockroom and storeroom, ensuring that all materials are stored in their assigned locations.
  • Issue stock items to locations.
  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks.
Qualifications And Experience
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain detailed written records in a working environment.
  • General knowledge of automotive and bus parts and the ability to understand and use manufacturers' parts manuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with other individuals in the workplace.
  • Proven ability to work with deadlines and complete work assignments within the prescribed time.
  • One year experience as a materials handler in a computerized distribution center or equivalent, qualified forklift driver, hazardous materials handler, and experience loading and unloading trucks.
  • Ability to read and write English clearly.
