Location: Somerset, NJ
Position Type: Contract (6 months initially, strong potential for permanent conversion based on performance)
Pay Rate: $20.00 - $22.00 / hour
Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Job OverviewA growing pharmaceutical manufacturer in Somerset, NJ is expanding its warehouse team. We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Operator to join a close-knit operations team.
Because you will be joining a lean team as one of the core foundational warehouse personnel, we are looking for a reliable professional with direct experience in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment, preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
In this role, you will be responsible for handling day-to-day material storage, order fulfillment, receiving inspections, and maintaining inventory integrity under strict regulatory guidelines.
Key ResponsibilitiesReceiving & Inspection: Unload incoming shipments, cross-reference paperwork (purchase orders, bills of lading), and perform incoming quality inspections for damaged or missing goods.
Material Management & Storage: Organize and safely store materials in designated warehouse locations; maintain hazardous or flammable material safety areas in compliance with fire codes.
Fulfillment: Pick, pack, label, and document outgoing shipments and production orders efficiently and accurately.
Returns & Inventory: Process returns, reshelve items, and participate in periodic cycle counts and formal inventory audits.
Warehouse Upkeep: Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant workspace aligned with GMP standards.
Collaboration & Issue Resolution: Coordinate with team leads, supervisors, and external vendor/customer drivers while handling material discrepancies quickly and effectively.
RequirementsExperience:1 year experience in warehouse operations within a GMP-regulated environment (Pharmaceutical or Biotech industry experience strongly preferred).
Forklift Certification: Active or previously held Forklift Certification required.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Skills: Strong attention to detail, familiar with material scanning, order documentation, and inventory workflows.
Attributes: Self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, growing manufacturing facility.
Note for Applicants: This position requires direct exposure to GMP procedures, documentation and standards. Candidates without prior regulated industry experience will not be considered.
