Qualifications:

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Math, or Physics, or pursuing such a degree with some coursework completed. Experience in tutoring or instructional assistance in engineering or science. Proficiency in computer, database, and spreadsheet skills. Excellent communication skills. Ability to foster a respectful and inclusive environment for diverse backgrounds.
Preferred: Master’s degree and teaching experience.

Summary of Duties:

This posting is for part-time tutoring opportunities aimed at creating an ongoing applicant pool. These are temporary, part-time positions supporting STEM students through individual or group tutoring, workshops, and collaboration with faculty across campuses including Newark, Coshocton, Mt. Vernon, and Pataskala. Experience with online tutoring via Zoom is preferred.

Responsibilities include:

Providing one-on-one or small group tutoring to communicate course concepts, assist in test prep, and support study skills (50%).

Consulting with staff on teaching methods for students with special needs (15%).

Collaborating with lab coordinators and faculty to facilitate in-lab and embedded tutoring (15%).

Referring students to additional support resources (10%).

Consulting with faculty on course content (10%).

Maintaining accurate records of sessions and attendance, and assisting with paperwork (10%).
