The Ohio State University invites applications for the position of Academic Advisor 2 at the Newark campus. Additionally, the role includes advising students on university policies and procedures, program and degree requirements, and other academic matters.
Responsibilities also entail assisting with student orientation and teaching lessons in a student survey course. Furthermore, the role supports students in navigating the university environment and making referrals to various university offices that enhance the student experience, including academic, career, financial, and psychological resources.
Additional responsibilities include participating in orientation and recruitment activities to support undergraduate program engagement and enrollment. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to student development and a collaborative approach to student support services.
Minimum Qualifications- Master's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Preferred minimum years of relevant experience: 1-2
- Capable of conveying complex ideas in a way that is tailored to the needs of students. Able to explain program requirements to diverse audiences, including students, parents, faculty, and partner units. Demonstrates fundamental communication skills and basic knowledge of multiculturalism and inclusion. Proficient in performing basic transactions in the Student Information System (SIS). Possesses relational skills such as active listening and effective interviewing and questioning techniques.

This position is based at the Newark Campus in Newark, Ohio, with a target hiring range of $45,000 to $49,000
