Intervention Specialist – Mild
- Moderate @ Wilson Middle School
- Applicant must possess a valid Ohio Education of the Handicapped Licensed/Certificate with SLD, CD validation (candidates with multiple special education validations preferred) or Intervention Specialist:
Mild-Moderate, Moderate-Intensive - be aware of the social and emotional needs of each individual student
- demonstrate the ability to identify individual student needs
- creatively develop and implement integrated and functional activities to teach the contact standards
- effectively differentiate instruction
- efficiently use student data to determine individual needs, develop targeted learning plans, and monitor ongoing progress
- serve students with a variety of handicapping conditions as well as at-risk students within an intervention or inclusion setting
- effectively plan, design, and implement a variety of behavior management strategies
- possess strong communication and organizational skills
- demonstrate the ability to collaborate with parents, special and regular education staff, students, related service personnel, and community agencies in the delivery of services to students with disabilities
- be objective, flexible, and have an understanding of students with disabilities
- supervise classroom aides and guide their work with students
- participate in department, building, and district professional development opportunities relating to the education of students with disabilities
- be acceptable to the Building Principal, Director of Student Services and Assistant Superintendent of Certificated/Licensed Personnel
