Position: MD Intervention Specialist Moderate-Intensive @ Wilson Middle School.
Effective Starting Date: School Year. Starting Date:
Aug 1, 2026.
- Possess a valid Ohio Education of the Handicapped certificate/license (candidates with multiple special education validations preferred or Intervention Specialist – Moderate to Intensive).
- Be aware of the social and emotional needs of each individual student.
- Demonstrate the ability to identify individual student needs.
- Creatively develop and implement integrated and functional activities to teach the content standards.
- Effectively differentiate instruction.
- Plan and implement a variety of behavior management strategies.
- Use student data efficiently to determine individual needs, develop targeted learning plans, and monitor ongoing progress.
- Serve students with a variety of handicapping conditions and some at‑risk students within an intervention or inclusion setting.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Be objective and flexible.
- Participate in building and district professional development opportunities relating to the education of students with disabilities.
- Supervise classroom aides and guide their work with students.
- Collaborate with parents, special and regular education staff, students, related service personnel, and community agencies in the delivery of services to students with disabilities.
- Proficiency in assessing student performance and writing IEP goals to address needs.
- Acceptable to the Building Principal, Director of Student Services and Assistant Superintendent of Certificated/Licensed Personnel.
