Claggett & Sons, Inc. is seeking a detail‑driven, forward‑thinking Controller to oversee financial operations across multiple business entities within our established and steadily growing construction company. Our long‑term Controller is retiring after nearly 20 years of dedicated service, and we’re looking for the next generation of leadership to continue our company’s legacy.
We use Foundation Software for construction accounting — experience is helpful but not required. If you bring strong accounting skills, curiosity, and a proactive mindset, we’re happy to train the right person.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands‑on environment and wants to be part of a company with deep local roots and a reputation built over seven decades.
Some of your responsibilities include: lead financial management across multiple related entities, prepare financial statements, maintain job costing, collaborate with project managers and leadership, ensure compliance with industry standards, oversee accounts receivable and payroll, support audits.
What we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, 3-5+ yearsof accounting experience, strong organizational and analytical skills, ability to manage multiple priorities across multiple entities.
