Position Summary
With minimal supervision, the Physician Center Clerk is responsible for providing all aspects of clerical support to the patient care team, working collaboratively with all staff members of the physician center.
Responsibilities- Answer phone and enter phone notes.
- Open and distribute incoming mail and faxes.
- Update all demographic information at check‑in.
- Scan test results into electronic medical record.
- Schedule patient appointments in IDX.
- Collect co‑payments and outstanding balances.
- Coordinate referral process.
- Prepare mailings identified by manager or physician.
- Perform end‑of‑day duties to include appointment reconciliation and cash accounting.
- Read, write, and follow verbal instructions.
- Ability to operate various office machines including a personal computer, fax, copier, etc.
- Customer service oriented.
- Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred).
- Basic insurance knowledge (preferred).
- LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC, and as such, may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.
