Network Administrator Position Summary
Install and support the organization's local and wide area networks (both wired and wireless). Monitor and maintain firewalls. Review network and security logs and work with the team to correct any identified issues. Identify and make changes related to network infrastructure and security. Provision Internet access and establish VPNs. Responsible for the performance, maintenance, security, installation, and upgrade of LAN/WAN. Maintain physical wiring closets and keep an accurate device inventory.
Ensure high availability of LAN and WAN. Troubleshoot and correct simple to moderately complex infrastructure issues and VOIP related problems. Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and implementation. Collaborate with other IS team members to ensure that servers and network infrastructure are installed in the data centers according to established standards. May be required to float throughout LMHS and perform other duties as requested.
- Primarily work within the Information Systems Department and with vendors.
- May occasionally collaborate with other LMHS department employees, physicians or leadership.
- Provide assistance to physicians and external customers.
- Read, comprehend, and teach complicated and detailed instructions in order to plan and perform position duties.
- Integrate and interpret data from diverse sources to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve Information Systems and communication related problems.
- Meet deadlines, plan effectively, pay close attention to details, and follow up with the customer in a timely fashion.
- Maintain strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Live within 45 minutes of LMHS.
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or have equivalent experience (4+ years).
- 4+ years of experience in Information Technology Support.
- Proven ability to fix moderate to complex issues related to hardware and software.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and correct basic networking issues.
- Preferred certifications related to networking, security or other infrastructure.
- Knowledge of LMH accreditation standards and willingness to engage in required annual education.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience (4+ years).
- Certifications related to networking or security.
