Regional Operations Manager

This position is responsible for the overall leadership of multiple facilities within a specific region and plays a critical role in our corporate team environment. It involves the overall management of the salaried and hourly workforce across multiple processing plants and service centers, including inventory control, processing, distribution, equipment maintenance, building maintenance, sales, service, billing, and collection. The role reports to the President of the company and owns the strategic and tactical management of all plant, sales, and service functions.

Management

of Plant & Staff Positions
  • Training and mentoring of management and supervisory personnel.
  • Coordinate and ensure all corporate training and procedure guidelines are met for all associates.
  • Manage multifunctional areas including production, engineering, office administration, sales, route delivery drivers, operations managers, and up to one hundred associates.
Responsible for all company assets including:
  • Building, equipment, fleet, inventory, and parts.
  • Accounts receivable, monitoring, and collection.
  • Building and grounds maintenance.
  • Vehicle maintenance.
  • Quality manager and quality control.
Strategic and tactical implementation
  • Assist in the development and implementation of supply chain strategies that tightly connect the company to its vendor and customer base.
  • Assign management to specific duties that best utilize their experience and maximize production.
  • Establish operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and accurate warehouse inventory, including use of designated computer systems where applicable.
  • Develop production schedules to utilize equipment and employees most effectively.
  • Purchasing & price negotiation.
Coordinate flow of product and information to both internal & external customers
  • Work closely with distribution centers, sales departments, vendors, and customers to provide uninterrupted flow of product to customers.
  • Communicate with the Senior Vice President, President, corporate office, support staff, and sister companies.
  • Monthly production/engineering and safety committee meetings as well as weekly & monthly report review and completion.
Formal education preferred
  • A four‑year degree or eight years of experience as a facility operating manager.
Strong management skills necessary
  • Formal training on how to manage and lead by example.
  • Conflict resolution and training are key components of this position.
  • Good common sense.
  • Budgeting.
  • P&L responsibility, evaluations & presentations.
  • Goal setting, delegate and follow‑up.
  • Operating multiple business units.
Strong technical skills
  • A thorough understanding of the product environment.
  • Knowledge of product and equipment.
  • Microsoft Office applications:
    Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • General understanding of the internet's emerging role in internal and external communication.
  • Background in operations including external distribution.
Strong communication skills
  • Must be comfortable communicating with all levels of management.
  • Must be a self‑starter who is good at identifying and leveraging opportunities as they arise.
  • Must have a positive attitude and excellent telephone skills.
