Tectum, a subsidiary of Armstrong World Industries and one of eleven North American plants, is looking for reliable Material Handlers & Industrial Cleaning Techinicans to join our 1st (7am-3pm) and 2nd (3pm-11pm) shift teams. Tectum is proud to have over 70 years of experience producing wall, roof and ceiling tiles. We currently employ ~100 people who are involved in the manufacturing and shipping of our Tectum product.
We are looking for creators and enthusiasts who demonstrate pride in their work and are interested in a career in manufacturing.
Job duties include:
Working safely in a manufacturing environment and adhering to all company and OSHA safety standards.
Ensuring that the standards for product quality and output, etc. are adhered to and improved upon.
Participating in team work, hitting and exceeding goals and focusing on customer satisfaction.
Performing heavy duty work, such as removing and stacking finished board, product assembly and packaging.
Attending required company training programs including training to become a certified forklift driver.
Maintaining good housekeeping and adherence to 5S standards.
Qualifications:
Industrial or manufacturing experience desired but not required
Be reliable and punctual, and be able to work flexible day time hours, including overtime and some weekends, as needed.
Language proficiency to read & write in English
Able to follow work instructions, willingness to learn and be part of a winning team
Preferred
Qualification:
HS diploma or GED
Work Environment
Plant Environment - This position operates in a manufacturing setting and can be subject to extreme cold and hot temperatures; uneven walking surfaces with cords, tools and other obstacles; intermittent loud noises; and dusty or dirty conditions. Basic PPE required: safety glasses, earplugs, and steel toe/composite boots. Specific PPE & training will be provided for activities requiring additional accommodations.
