Qualifications/Requirements:
- possess good organization, time management skills, and written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills.
- must have basic familiarity with costume work, physical endurance, and performance artistry.
- possess a friendly and engaging personality, with the ability to interact positively and represent the organization professionally.
- be comfortable performing in a confined costume with limited visibility and mobility, adapting to different performance environments and situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- has an interest in marketing, communications, and public relations.
- has excellent physical stamina and endurance to perform in a Mascot costume for extended periods, often in varying weather conditions.
- Flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends to accommodate event schedules.
Summary of Duties:
Student employment provides students with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience while supporting campus programs and services.
In this postion, the student will:
- Support the Marketing and Communications department by assisting with marketing campaigns, recruitment, retention, and public relations initiatives.
- Represent the College at campus events, primarily outside of regular business hours, by serving as the institutional mascot and engaging with students, employees, and community members.
- Maintain the mascot costume to ensure it is clean, safe, and performance-ready, and collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to promote college programs and enhance campus engagement.
Location: Newark
Work Hours: Varies based upon departmental needs and student's availability.
