Sr. Accountant

Description

We are looking for a skilled Sr. Accountant to join our client's team on a short-term contract basis in Newberg, Oregon. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounting processes, including payroll reconciliations and journal entries. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring accuracy across financial records and maintaining compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities:

- Perform detailed payroll reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

- Manage journal entries and ensure they are correctly recorded in the general ledger.

- Conduct thorough reconciliations of bank accounts, including payroll-related accounts.

- Oversee month-end close processes to finalize financial statements.

- Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts to ensure proper reporting.

- Identify and address outstanding checks in bank accounts.

- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards.

- Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data analysis.

- Support audits by preparing required documentation and reports.

Requirements - Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management.

- Expertise in preparing and reviewing journal entries.

- Strong skills in account reconciliation, especially bank and payroll accounts.

- Familiarity with handling outstanding checks and resolving related issues.

- Proficiency in financial statement preparation and analysis.

- Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.

- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
