Position: Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing (Pre-licensure BSN Program)

George Fox University’s College of Nursing announces a faculty position to begin August 1, 2026. The College seeks a faculty member enthusiastic about educating the next generation of nurses in our growing pre‑licensure baccalaureate program. Candidates should have experience working with diverse populations across the lifespan and a passion for serving vulnerable populations and underserved communities. Experience as a nurse educator with classroom, simulation, and clinical teaching is highly valued.

Job Responsibilities
  • Teach theory, clinical, and simulation/lab nursing courses, including Acute Care, Nutrition, and/or Pharmacology.
  • Establish and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Participate in the ongoing and innovative work of the College of Nursing.
  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with healthcare agency professionals and other campus educators.
  • Engage in scholarship that contributes to the advancement of nursing as a profession.
  • Participate in department and university activities, including advising and serving on university committees as needed.
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with employees, students, and the public in a spirit of teamwork, respect, and customer service.
  • Model Christian values to students, both through casual contact and in supervisory roles.
  • Demonstrate awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity in culture, background, race, sex, political views, and expressions of faith.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Nursing.
  • Current, unencumbered Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of five years practicing as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Excellent professional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining consistently high professional standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a growing, innovative team.
  • Capacity to work full‑time, in‑person.
  • Commitment to working with a diverse population of students.
  • Personal commitment to Jesus Christ and active participation in a church, and agreement to live in accordance with the Community Lifestyle Statement and Statement of Faith.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Nursing or a related field.
  • CNE or CHSE certification.
  • Experience as a nurse educator in classroom, simulation, and clinical teaching settings at a higher education institution.
  • Demonstrated experience working with a diverse population of students.
Salary and Rank
  • Appointment at the Assistant Professor level is anticipated; candidates with significant prior teaching experience may be considered for the rank of Associate Professor.
  • Salary and benefits are competitive with comparable institutions.

    Work Location:

    Newberg Campus – resident / in‑person faculty position.
  • Work Period: 9 months (August 15th through May 14th).
  • Full Time Equivalent: 0.75 Faculty FTE.
  • Working Conditions:

    May include travel to a clinical site within 60 miles of Newberg Campus. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Supervisor: BSN Program Director.
