Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY: Provide ESY Special Education services for qualified students in a classroom, small group tutoring, and individual tutoring.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Meet and instruct assigned classes in the designated locations and times.
- Use data to plan a program of study that meets the interests, needs, and abilities of the students and follows established curriculum.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Prepare for classes and show written evidence of preparation upon request.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent within the limitations of the location and resources provided by the district.
- Establish and maintain open communication with students and parents concerning academic and behavioral progress.
- Cooperate and collaborate with staff members.
- Attend staff meetings and other required meetings.
- Assist administration with implementing all policies and rules of the school and district.
- Assess student accomplishments regularly and maintain required records.
- Take reasonable precautions to provide for student health and safety.
- Participate in program planning for children with disabilities and provide direct instruction, consultation, and materials adaptation.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure curriculum accessibility and implementation of accommodations and modifications.
- Serve as a resource to parents of students with disabilities.
- Maintain records, reports, and documentation required by the district.
- Participate in design and implementation of behavior support plans for students with IEPs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge: curriculum content for subject areas, state and federal special education laws, child development, disabilities, and inclusive practices.
Skills: lesson planning, engaging learning activities, behavior management, assessment, special needs instruction, curriculum accessibility, progress monitoring.
Communication: effective oral and written communication; ability to collaborate with students, parents, and staff.
Experience: working with special needs students; bilingual/Spanish speaking preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in education/teaching.
Certification: valid Oregon teaching license with Special Education endorsement.

Terms of EmploymentSummer School:
July 1, 2026 – August 1, 2026.
Licensed, Temporary position at Edwards Elementary Campus – INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY.
Calendar / Benefits8:00 am – 3:30 pm for 16 days;
Monday–Thursday July 6 – July 30, 2026 plus 2 additional training days. Hours may vary; final schedule TBD.
Paid by timesheet at the Curriculum Rate per the 2026‑2027 Salary Schedule.
