Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:
Assist the ELD Teacher or migrant home-school consultant to carry out assigned duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Ability to tutor ELD and migrant students in all subjects including primary and secondary language development; ability to read English, Spanish or other designated languages and comprehend curriculum materials through grade 12. Ability to write clear and concise communications in English, Spanish or other designated languages; ability to work with migrant qualified students; ability to work with parents;
ability to respect confidential information. Flexible and willing to do a variety of jobs to meet deadlines and complete all required training. Bilingual ability in a language identified by the immediate supervisor that will best support performance responsibilities.
Experience: Experience working with elementary school students. Experience working with migrant youth preferred. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
Education: Two years of college, associate's degree or passing score on a paraprofessional exam in reading, writing and math as required by federal law.
