Assistant​/Associate Professor, College of Education

George Fox University's College of Education announces a full-time, tenure-track position in the Educational Leadership, Educational Doctorate program, to begin August 15, 2026. This 24-credit, Tenure-Track position supports students through coursework and dissertation work throughout their studies.

About the Job:

The position will primarily focus on the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) program, with potential support for the Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) and Administrative Licensure programs. While this program is offered principally online, support for students is year-round, including a mandatory July summer residency for faculty participation.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Teaching courses within the Educational Doctorate (Ed.D) program; present departmental needs include qualitative methodology, instructional technology, school improvement, or educational policy.

* Advising doctoral candidates in programs of study to ensure they meet the required competencies for timely dissertation completion.

* Facilitating partnership work with schools and districts to provide research program opportunities.

* Completing an ongoing research agenda that would provide a timely pathway to faculty advancement and tenure.

* Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.

* By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.

* Demonstrating awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people.

* Other duties as assigned.

We're looking for candidates who have:

* An EdD or PhD in education or a related field.

* Experience in K-12 Administration as Principal or Central Office.

* Demonstrated excellence in teaching.

* A commitment to working with a diverse student population; demonstrated experience in this area is preferred.

* Availability to teach in person, online, as well as virtually for synchronous delivery.

* A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a church. In addition, employees agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.

Salary and rank:

* Appointment at the Assistant Professor level is anticipated, though candidates with significant teaching experience at previous institutions and a terminal degree may be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor. Salary and benefits are competitive with comparable institutions.
