George Fox University's College of Education announces a full-time, teaching-track position in the Preliminary Teaching License programs to begin August 15, 2026. This 30-credit position supports the preparation of teacher candidates for the Oregon Preliminary Teaching License through teaching, advising, supervision, and service across undergraduate and graduate licensure programs. Courses may be taught in face-to-face, hybrid, and/or asynchronous online formats.
About the JobThis position will entail a primary emphasis in the Graduate preliminary licensure programs. The faculty member should demonstrate expertise and experience in elementary mathematics and/or literacy instruction. The faculty member will teach courses within the teacher preparation program and collaborate with colleagues in supporting candidate development, program implementation, and continuous improvement efforts. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to high‑quality instruction across multiple delivery formats, including face‑to‑face, hybrid, and asynchronous online teaching.
Job Responsibilities- Teaching courses within graduate preliminary licensure programs in face‑to‑face, hybrid, and asynchronous online formats.
- Demonstrating strong instructional technology skills and the ability to effectively teach and support candidates across multiple learning platforms and modalities.
- Advising and supporting teacher candidates in meeting program and Oregon licensure requirements.
- Supervising and supporting teacher candidates during field experiences and practicum placements, as needed.
- Collaborating with faculty and school partners in support of program implementation, accreditation, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Participating in recruitment, advising, and community‑building in support of the broader College of Education community.
- Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
- By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
- Demonstrating awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A Master’s Degree or higher in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
- Licensure at the elementary or secondary level, with recent experience and endorsements.
- Expertise and experience in elementary mathematics and/or literacy instruction.
- Experience with asynchronous online instruction.
- Availability and willingness to teach in‑person, hybrid, asynchronous online, and virtually for synchronous delivery.
- A commitment to the University's Theology of Racial and Ethnic Diversity.

Appointment at the Assistant Professor level is anticipated, though candidates with significant teaching experience at previous institutions and a terminal degree may be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor. Salary and benefits are competitive with comparable institutions.
