George Fox University's Graduate School of Clinical Psychology announces a full-time, tenure‑track faculty position. The position is offered on a 12‑month modified contract: nine months of core faculty teaching (May–August) with the opportunity for additional summer research support to dissertation students. The role may also include an administrative leadership position within the department.

About the Job

The responsibilities of this position include teaching doctoral students in generalist clinical psychology coursework, leading a weekly small‑group clinical mentor session, and heading a focused research team that includes students across training levels. Faculty also participate in administrative service within the department or on university committees and are expected to develop and sustain an active scholarship program.

Job Responsibilities
  • Teaching courses within the Graduate School of Counseling curriculum.
  • Developing courses when needed.
  • Abiding by APA standards as faculty, professor, and advisor.
  • Participating in student screenings and faculty meetings.
  • Student advising.
  • Developing and sustaining an ongoing program of relevant scholarship.
  • Participating in departmental and university work, including serving on committees as needed.
  • Communicating effectively and courteously with employees, students, and the public in a spirit of teamwork, respect, and customer service.
  • Serving as a Christian role model to students through both formal supervision and everyday interactions.
  • Demonstrating awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, and faith expression, and working well with diverse people.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • PsyD or Ph.D. in a relevant field.
  • Psychologist licensure in Oregon or eligibility to obtain licensure in Oregon.
  • A scholarship agenda with a record of relevant scholarship.
  • A commitment to working with a diverse population of students.
  • A commitment to the University’s Theology of Racial and Ethnic Diversity.
  • A desire to work with a diverse community of students and employees representing various cultures, backgrounds, abilities, ethnicities, political views, and expressions of Christian faith.
  • Personal commitment to Jesus Christ and expression of Christian testimony in a church context. Employees must agree to live in accordance with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the Statement of Faith.
Preferred Attributes
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
  • Record of relevant scholarship.
  • Oregon licensed or license‑eligible psychologist or allied mental health professional.
  • Strong leadership skills.
Salary and Rank
  • Appointment is anticipated at the Assistant Professor level; candidates with significant prior teaching experience may be considered for Associate Professor rank. Salary and benefits are competitive with comparable institutions.
