Job Description

Echocardiograph Technologist at Providence Newberg Medical Center in Newberg, OR.

Shift and Compensation

Part‑time day shift – Saturday and Sunday from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. Sign‑on bonus of $4,000 for eligible external candidates who meet all conditions for payment.

Responsibilities

Performs cardiac ultrasound examinations according to physician's orders, utilizing a variety of complex ultrasound equipment. Objectively identifies the presence of or absence of disease using a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Assists physicians with more invasive echocardiography examinations including, but not limited to, trans‑esophageal echocardiography, trans‑catheter echo‑guided procedures (location specific), pericardiocentesis, echo‑guided myocardial biopsies (location specific), contrast‑enhanced exams, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiography.

Required Qualifications
  • Oregon Sonographer – upon hire
  • National Registered Cardiac Sonographer – Cardiovascular Credentialing International, OR – upon hire
  • National Advanced Cardiac Sonographer – Cardiovascular Credentialing International, OR – upon hire
  • National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer – American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography – upon hire
  • National Provider BLS – American Heart Association – upon hire
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Applied Science from a CAAHPE accredited school in Non‑invasive Cardiovascular Technology, or Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  • 1 year of experience performing cardiovascular ultrasound examinations.
  • Minimum of 800 exams using all imaging modalities available.
  • Pediatric echocardiography experience.
  • Familiarity with imaging support of advanced heart‑failure patients (mechanical support devices).
  • Experience with echo‑guided trans‑catheter procedures.
