Senior Pharmacy Technician – Providence Newberg Medical Center – Newberg, OR
Full Time, Variable Shift.
Job Overview
The Acute Care Pharmacy Tech III performs duties related to filling and dispensing unit dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to nursing units and other ancillary departments in a prompt, accurate manner. Responsibilities include filling oral and IV medications, triaging patient orders, and maintaining the integrity of the automated dispensing system (ADS). The role requires advanced knowledge and skills in two or more specialty areas in pharmacy.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or GED
- Oregon Certified Pharmacy Technician license or Oregon Pharmacy Technician License upon hire
- Minimum 2 years (4160 clock hours) pharmacy practice in an integrated health system with PTCB certification, or 3 years (6240 hours) hospital pharmacy if no PTCB certification
- Experience with automated dispensing machines (ADMs) and electronic health records (EHR)
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program
- Advanced PTCB certificate (e.g., compounded sterile products, advanced certified pharmacy technician, medication history, controlled substances)
- Specialty certification where applicable (e.g., ACPE approved sterile compounding certification)
Benefits and Compensation
Salary range: $26.79 – $40.99 (base pay range); additional compensation may be available for shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
