Responsibilities

EVS Techs are responsible for providing a safe care environment for patients, visitors, and staff within their assigned area(s) by demonstrating clean, disinfect, and quality assurance principles to reduce harmful pathogens. They maintain timely room turns, ensure patient throughput, and serve as a vital contributor to environmental hygiene, infection prevention, and patient experience.

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas and equipment to ensure compliance with mandated regulatory agencies and Hazelden policies and procedures.
• Participate in daily interactions with unit staff and patients to provide a supportive environment.

• Current CPR and First Aid certification or obtain within 30 days
  • Certification must be from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST).
• One year of health care environmental services experience.
