Position Overview

Senior Pharmacy Technician – Acute Care Pharmacy Tech III, Providence Newberg Medical Center, Newberg, OR. Full‑time, variable shift.

The Acute Care Pharmacy Tech III performs duties related to filling and dispensing unit dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to nursing units and other ancillary departments promptly and accurately. Responsibilities include filling/dispensing oral and IV medications, triaging patient orders, and maintaining the integrity of the Automated Dispensing System (ADS). The role requires advanced knowledge and skills in two or more specialty areas in pharmacy.

• H.S. Diploma or GED
• Upon hire:
  Oregon Certified Pharmacy Technician OR Oregon Pharmacy Technician License
• Minimum 2 years (>4,160 hours) of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system and PTCB certification – OR – 3 years (>6,240 hours) hospital pharmacy if no PTCB
• Previous experience with Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs) and electronic health records (EHR)

• Completion of a Pharmacy Technician program
• Advanced PTCB certificate (e.g., compounded sterile products, advanced certified pharmacy technician, medication history certificate, controlled substances)
• Specialty certification where applicable (e.g., ACPE approved sterile compounding certification)
