Position: Medical Assistant & Associate – Float Pool (Premium Pay)

Medical Assistant & Associate Medical Assistant

This is a combined posting for a Medical Assistant and Associate Medical Assistant. For each role, the requirements are listed under the associated title. If you meet the qualifications for either position, we encourage you to apply.

Medical Assistant (MA II)

The MA II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. The MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for the assigned clinic/location of work. The MA II is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Medical

Assistant (MA I)

The MA I works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing basic patient care to assigned patients. Basic patient care needs will be met through both administrative and clinical duties. The MA I is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Resource / Float

The Staffing Resource Department is a float pool of Medical Assistants which serves the PMG clinics in the Portland Metro area. You will serve patients seen in Primary Care, Pediatrics, and Specialty Care. Full and part‑time positions are available.

  • Premium float pay included
  • Mileage reimbursement if eligible
Required Qualifications – Medical Assistant
  • Graduate of an accredited medical‑assistant school with hands‑on training, or
  • Graduate of a registered medical‑assistant apprenticeship program, or
  • Completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces, or
  • Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration
  • Upon hire:
    National Provider BLS – American Heart Association
  • 6 months of healthcare experience
  • 6 months of medical‑assistant experience
Preferred Qualifications – Medical Assistant
  • Upon hire:
    National Medical Assistant Certification

Salary Range: Min: $23.27, Max: $35.60

Required Qualifications – Associate Medical Assistant
  • Graduate of an accredited medical‑assistant school with hands‑on training, or
  • Graduate of a registered medical‑assistant apprenticeship program, or
  • Completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces, or
  • Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration,
  • Upon hire:
    National Provider BLS – American Heart Association
  • Medical‑assisting experience in a clinic setting (0–6 months)
Preferred Qualifications – Associate Medical Assistant
  • 6 months of prior experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast‑paced environment
  • 6 months of previous experience in a healthcare setting working with an Electronic Health Record (EHR)

Salary Range: Min: $21.33, Max: $31.98
