The Project Manager at HTTP is responsible for managing and executing steel scope projects ranging from $20,000 to $10 million. This role will drive and oversee all aspects of project delivery, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management. The Project Manager will ensure compliance with safety, quality, and contractual requirements while maintaining strong client relationships and driving project success.

This person is someone who fundamentally understands how to build things and also has advanced organization experience necessary to plan the work and drive it to completion with performance levels reliably meeting targets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Management & Execution:
- Lead and manage steel scope projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timeline.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Coordinate with vendors, and the HTTP departments (purchasing, engineering, fabrication) to optimize project execution.
- Monitor and control project performance, identifying and mitigating risks proactively.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual requirements and industry standards.
Financial & Cost Management:
- Develop and track project budgets, ensuring cost control and financial reporting accuracy.
- Analyze financial performance and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Own Project Change Order management to ensure scope and budgets are aligned and reflected in the contract. Collaborate with estimating team to provide accurate change order estimates.
- Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships to optimize cost‑effectiveness. Work with Purchasing to ensure Orders and contracts are thoroughly and appropriately documented (terms & conditions, flow downs, receiving requirements, etc).
- Help develop and grow project management process and best practices.
Risk Management & Safety Compliance:
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure smooth execution.
- Enforce strict adherence to customer specifications, company procedures, company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
Client & Stakeholder Communication:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and subcontractors.
- Provide regular project status updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Address and resolve project‑related issues efficiently to maintain client satisfaction.
- Foster strong relationships with key clients to support business development efforts of the Account Management Team.
- Be responsible for managing accuracy of project timeline tracking and reporting in company project management software.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in industrial construction, specifically managing steel scope projects.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Project Management experience in Nuclear or Aerospace industries, preferred.
- ASME pressure vessel experience strongly preferred.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have worked with government contracts.
- Experience in a fabrication environment, preferably job‑shop or general contract companies.
- Strong fabrication background/builder‑mentality.
- Strong technical skills/aptitude.
- Able to work independently and manage tasks in an organized manner.
