Overview
At A-dec, we are a global, family‑run company in the dental industry. This position performs basic dental furniture machining tasks, which include operation of machines under training and supervision. Incumbents set up and operate machines using takt time sheets, standard work, and templates.
Responsibilities- Perform basic machining operations, which may include adapting fixtures and/or CNC programs.
- Set up power equipment to obtain the correct size, shape, or finish to print, and understand the Catia/Cut Rite cut‑list process.
- Perform first‑article inspection on assigned work.
- Perform semi‑routine machining tasks such as routing, secondary cutting operations, and sanding.
- Follow written and/or verbal instructions, including templates, takt time sheets, method sheets, bill of materials, and production orders.
- Interpret test results, troubleshoot and repair parts that do not meet quality standards and function, and refer situations outside of instructions to the unit specialist or supervisor.
- Achieve and maintain quality and productivity standards, make recommendations for improvements, follow safety guidelines, and maintain an acceptable dependability level.
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions, interpret templates and takt time sheet instructions, select cutting tools and machine fixtures, and determine color, while retaining and applying department standards.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively inspect assigned work and the work of others using metric tape measures and other appropriate measuring tools.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate work information in English with a demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions and troubleshoot problems when necessary.
- Previous computer experience required.
- Manual dexterity is also required.
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise maneuver up to 35 pounds with or without assistance on a routine basis and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Must have manual hand dexterity to grasp, operate tools and equipment repetitively.
- Able to walk, stand, sit, bend, reach, and occasionally kneel, climb steps, and twist throughout an entire shift.
- Some areas may be exposed to chemicals, noise, vibration and/or dust, and require the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection, foot protection, etc.).
- Ability to wear respiratory protection and comply with OSHA’s respirator use requirements.
