Powder Coat Technician ; Weekend Shift

Job Overview

Powder Coat Technician I at A-dec performs routine and repetitive tasks associated with pre and post coating operations in a production environment.

• Set up and operate painting equipment in the production area, including manual and auto paint booths.
• Perform secondary activities such as finishing work, hand deburring, parts cleaning, routing, basic drill and tap work, masking, and racking parts to be painted.
• Inspect assigned work to achieve and maintain quality and productivity standards while following safety guidelines.
• Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and avoid risks to self and others.
• Read basic blueprints and follow production orders, checklists, method sheets, and record work information on job cards.
• Route parts safely and efficiently using material handling equipment.
• Maintain a neat and organized workstation as part of a collaborative team effort.
• Actively engage in continuous improvement initiatives within the department.

• Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating work information in English.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and participate in pass‑down communication.
• Effective time and resource management skills.
• Manual dexterity and the ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Basic computer skills.
• Previous powder coat manufacturing experience preferred but not required.

• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise maneuver up to 35 pounds routinely and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Manual hand dexterity to grasp, operate tools and equipment repetitively.
• Ability to walk, stand, sit, bend, reach, kneel, climb steps, and twist throughout an entire shift.
• Exposure to chemicals, noise, vibration, and/or dust may occur; use of appropriate PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, foot protection, respiratory protection) is required.

• Use required PPE and comply with OSHA respirator use requirements.
• Wear respiratory protection when necessary and adhere to safety guidelines.
