Structural Steel Fabricator - Shop

Newberg, OR

Pay: $25-$32/hour + Overtime

Schedule: Full-time, Mon-Thurs (6:00am-4:30pm)

What You’ll Do

As a Structural Steel Fabricator, you’ll play a hands‑on role in producing high-quality structural components. This position is ideal for someone who takes ownership of their work, enjoys working with their hands, and thrives in a team‑oriented shop.

  • Perform structural welding (FCAW - dual shield & inner shield) on steel framing, joints, and connections
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding procedures
  • Complete layout, fit‑up, measuring, cutting, and assembly to tight tolerances
  • Operate shop equipment including saws, welders, grinders, and drills
  • Utilize equipment such as forklifts, cranes, lifts, and telehandlers (with training)
  • Inspect finished work to ensure quality standards are met
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines
What You Bring
  • Experience with structural steel fabrication and welding (D1.1 FCAW preferred)
  • Ability to weld in all positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead - 4G)
  • Strong blueprint reading and layout skills
  • Familiarity with fabrication tools and shop equipment
  • Ability to work independently and on a team
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and be on your feet for extended periods
  • Commitment to safety and proper PPE use
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
