Position: Machine Operator I (CNC Lathe - Weekend Shift)

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate machines and tools under trainer supervision while wearing required personal protective equipment.
  • Perform tasks and operate equipment such as parts finishing, deburring, cleaning, routing, cylinder assembly, test equipment, soldering equipment, saw equipment, and manual machines including Bridgeport, Dovetail Screw Machine (DSM), drill and tap work.
  • Routinely produce and inspect production parts to blueprints, operational notes, or standard work instructions using proper inspection methods and tools to achieve and maintain quality standards.
  • Complete all required documentation to comply with policies and procedures.
  • Achieve and maintain established safety, quality, and productivity standards, ensuring no risk to self or others.
  • Perform routine total preventative maintenance (TPM) including lubrication and cleaning on assigned equipment.
  • Safely and efficiently route parts using material‑handling equipment.
  • Maintain a neat and organized workstation within a multi‑shift organization, communicating effectively and collaborating with the team.
  • Actively engage in departmental continuous improvement efforts and lean initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Read, write, and communicate in English; follow written and oral instructions.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Perform basic machining math calculations within 180 days.
  • Interpret job‑related blueprints and work instructions within 180 days.
  • Use precision measuring tools within 180 days.
  • Pass all required material‑handling tests within 180 days.
  • Identify common tools and material types within 180 days.
  • Troubleshoot problems to achieve permanent resolution.
  • Manage time and resources effectively.
  • No previous machining experience required; manufacturing experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift, carry, push, pull, or maneuver up to 35 pounds routinely and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Manual dexterity to grasp, operate tools, and equipment repetitively.
  • Walk, stand, sit, bend, reach, kneel, climb steps, and twist throughout a shift.
  • May be exposed to chemicals, noise, vibration, and/or dust; appropriate personal protective equipment required.
  • Wear respiratory protection and comply with OSHA respirator use requirements.
