The Cabinet Maker I performs routine and repetitive tasks on basic subassemblies, cabinet builds, packaging, water spider (inventory movement support), and checks parts for quality and function. This is the entry/trainee level cabinet maker position.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Assemble complex subassemblies including monitor mounts, task lights, electrical panels, and shelf assemblies.
- Package cabinetry while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
- Facilitate workflow on Water Spider, managing stocking bins, pallets, cardboard, and general material handling.
- Learn entry‑level cabinet build processes and use of 3
DXML, AX production cover notes, and standard work assembly drawings (SWAD). - Operate tools and equipment such as impact drivers, pneumatic tools, test fixtures, pallet jacks, lifts, tape guns, press fixtures, and banders while using required PPE and following safety guidelines.
- Follow SWADs to perform tasks, interpret test results, and troubleshoot and repair parts when necessary, referring to trainer or supervisor as needed.
- Achieve and maintain quality and productivity standards while following safety guidelines and ensuring no risk to self or others.
- Read, write, and communicate in English, following written and oral instructions.
- Basic computer skills.
- Basic math calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and simple fractions.
- Manual dexterity and ability to operate required hand tools.
Previous manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements- Lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise maneuver up to 35 pounds with or without assistance on a routine basis.
- Manual hand dexterity to grasp, operate tools and equipment repetitively.
- Walk, stand, sit, bend, reach, occasionally kneel, climb steps, and twist throughout an entire shift.
- Exposure to chemicals, noise, vibration, and/or dust; use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and foot protection.
