Express Employment Professionals is currently hiring for an Assembler I position on behalf of one of our valued clients in Newberg, Oregon

Position Summary

The Assembler I performs basic assembly operations involving routine and repetitive tasks while ensuring products are assembled accurately and meet quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment by performing all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
• Inspect parts and components for defects and quality issues.
• Position and align parts using fixtures, holding devices, and hand tools.
• Utilize hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, and other assembly equipment.
• Properly use and care for assigned tools and equipment.
• Perform minor preventative maintenance on equipment as required.
• Meet and maintain production goals within the assigned product team.
• Participate in inventory counting and stock management processes.
• Complete required production and quality documentation accurately and legibly.
• Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels within the work area.
• Maintain high standards of quality, cleanliness, and organization.
• Support team leads and management by performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform repetitive assembly tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools preferred.
• Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent repetitive use of hands, wrists, arms, and fingers.
• Frequent grasping, squeezing, and light mechanical assembly work.
• Occasional walking on level surfaces.
• Occasional reaching above and below shoulder level.
• Ability to occasionally carry items weighing 1 to 5 pounds.
• Ability to push or pull up to 10 pounds over short distances.
• Good vision and hearing required.
• Strong manual dexterity for precision assembly tasks.

Work Schedule

• Full-time position.
• Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
• Excellent attendance and reliability are expected.
• Less than 1% unplanned absenteeism.
• No more than 40 unexcused hours per calendar year.
