Landscape Maintenance Worker

The Landscape Maintenance Worker helps maintain and enhance the District’s parks and landscaped areas to ensure they are safe, attractive, and welcoming to the public. This position supports CPRD’s mission by contributing to the care of diverse outdoor spaces through routine maintenance and attention to detail.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine landscape maintenance of various parks, fields, and grounds.
  • Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on tools and equipment.
  • Apply soil amendments and other materials as needed.
  • Identify common landscape issues such as weeds and plant health concerns, and take appropriate action.
  • Identify and report hazards, damage, or maintenance needs.
  • Assist with seasonal tasks and support landscape improvement projects.
  • Assist with general park upkeep.
Required Qualifications & Physical Demand:
  • Must be at least 17 years of age and possess a valid Oregon Driver’s License.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, and be able to operate general landscape equipment and vehicles.
  • Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching for extended periods of time.
  • Preferred, but optional:
    Ability to identify plants, decorative pruning skills, experience with irrigation systems, and/or experience with hardscape installation.
Work Schedule:

This position typically works 15-25+ hours per week, and may occasionally work up to 40 hours, with shifts starting at 7:00 am. Occasional weekend work may be required based on seasonal and operational needs.
