Lumber Sales Coordinator

Pay: $22.10 - $26.35 hourly

PARR is a family‑owned homebuilding supplies company serving professional home builders of all sizes. The Lumber Sales Coordinator executes all aspects of our sales call process, supports the sales team by creating quotes, processing orders, and managing construction schedules.

Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers.
  • Communicate with a wide number of customers in the residential construction industry and help sell and manage the timely flow of building materials to their job sites.
  • Expertly use, promote and facilitate PARR Bridge Strategy.
  • Proactively set, reach for and meet (or exceed) personal sales and profit goals.
  • Deepen customer relationships and schedule timely material shipments to ensure account profitability and customer satisfaction & loyalty.
  • Sell on overall quality, value, and service rather than price.
  • Precisely and efficiently manage time and prioritize workflow in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Communicate with dispatch to avoid over promising deliveries and send pictures of returns with pickup requests.
  • Maintain customer profiles in Outlook or CRM with full contact information.
  • Maintain a clean workspace and follow best practices in order entry, delivery setup and all aspects of the job.
  • Walk customers to products in the store, introduce yourself, and use the customer’s name when possible.
  • Manage open orders to ensure timely invoicing or deletion.
  • Accurately take plans and submit details to MES and/or EWP; use DDMS to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Follow SPC guidelines and proper GP%.
  • Complete POs on time, confirm, and tie PO to order.
  • Greet walk‑in customers professionally and answer the phone promptly with a professional greeting.
  • Identify customer urgency and complete orders quickly.
  • Confirm customer material needs prior to sending deliveries.
  • Maintain material specifications for customer PTOs in the customer folder.
  • Complete quotes and follow up in a timely manner.
  • Be proactive with customer needs and maintain a PARR share file for plans and take‑offs.
  • Ensure inventory arrives, communicate with customers, and maintain high follow‑through on orders.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Conduct simple takeoffs for windows, doors, siding, and other materials.
  • Attend PKs and PARR‑offered classes; complete AMT training and online training as needed.
  • Follow proper material return procedures and AR account and cash handling procedures.
  • Seek out product transactions and order history, find substitute products if out of stock, and report low inventory when needed.
  • Make outgoing calls to prospects regarding business opportunities.
  • Attend and help perform inventory; arrive on time; follow company policies; and take ownership of performance.
  • Assist other divisions of PARR Lumber with sales and provide support as appropriate.
  • Contribute ideas to improve processes and training.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, wear high‑visibility gear, keep the workspace clutter‑free, and participate on safety committees.
  • Communicate professionally with all audiences, respond to voicemails and emails promptly, and hold others accountable when mistakes occur.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of building materials and experience in the construction industry.
  • Strong communication skills via phone and email.
  • Proven ability to develop relationships and achieve sales goals.
  • Proficiency in operating personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and other equipment.
  • 10‑key typing by touch (≥40 WPM).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • English speaking, writing, and reading proficiency.
  • Ability to execute PLC selling strategies and initiatives.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent and willingness to share departmental responsibilities to meet deadlines.
  • Interpersonal skills to work cordially, professionally, diplomatically, and with high customer service.
  • Sound judgment in handling sensitive business matters and confidentiality of financial records.
  • Ability to identify and improve processes, tools, and procedures.
