Facilities Engineer – Providence Newberg Medical Center
This full‑time day position supports the Portland Service Area. The Facilities Engineer supports the physical environment required for the delivery of health care services and is responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of the facility by monitoring, operating, and maintaining building systems and equipment. They must possess a working knowledge of the systems, processes, and procedures required to safely and effectively perform the duties of a stationary engineer and maintenance electrician, while continuously developing knowledge of new processes, equipment, and technologies used to carry out the work.

- Coursework/Training:
Stationary engineer apprenticeship, or stationary engineer apprenticeship with electrician apprenticeship and equivalent training or work experience - Upon hire:
National Electrician Supervisor License – State/County/City Trade License Authority, or - Upon hire:
National Electrician Journeyman License – State/County/City Trade License Authority, or - Upon hire:
National Electrician Limited Maintenance License – State/County/City Trade License Authority, or - Upon hire:
National Electrician Limited Building Maintenance License – State/County/City Trade License Authority - Upon request:
Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Drivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving and must provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request.
- Coursework/Training:
Computerized building management systems (DDC), or DDC equivalent work experience - Upon hire: EPA 608 Universal Refrigeration Technician certification
- Upon hire: ASSE 6040 Medical Gas Maintenance certification
- Upon hire: OHA Backflow Assembly Tester certification
- Upon hire:
Oregon Boiler License – Class 2 or higher - 3 years experience in central plant operations and maintenance
- Experienced in operation and maintenance of fire alarm systems
