Teacher certification preferred; a bachelor’s degree in a related field is acceptable.

• Cooperate in developing a program of continuous progress consistent with District goals and SC Early Learning Standards.
• Keep abreast of changes in District policies and students’ needs.
• Establish clear and appropriate objectives for all classroom activities and communicate them with students.
• Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
• Analyze the progress of individual students regularly and seek appropriate assistance as needed.
• Cooperate with other staff members in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of students.
• Seek the cooperation and assistance of parents through oral or written communication.
• Maintain accurate records as required by state or federal law, or District policies.
• Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students.
• Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and board policies.
• Be punctual and responsible in performing all duties and activities assigned.
• Participate in school and district staff development programs as assigned by the coordinator or adult education director.
• Attend staff meetings, serve on staff committees as requested, and accept a share of responsibility assigned by the coordinator or director.
• Always present a positive image of Newberry County School District.
