Engineering Technician – Refrigerator & Compressor Testing
Join GE Appliances, a Haier company, to conduct performance, reliability, and safety testing on refrigerators and compressors, working closely with engineering to ensure standards are followed during test setup, execution, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Apply technical expertise and in‑depth knowledge of appliances, specialized test environment equipment, software, and industry standards to review test plans and ensure appropriateness.
- Modify test setups as required and calibrate the test environment.
- Interpret test standards to confirm setup and appropriate methods to determine test stability and validity.
- Produce test summary reports in accordance with ISO 17025 Lab Quality Manual.
- Obtain universal refrigerant certification to perform compressor testing.
- Support airflow and UL testing activities.
- Move engineering samples between the test area, preparation area, and storage areas.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in laboratory environments with increasing responsibility, including troubleshooting appliances, test stations, or similar complex equipment.
- 2‑year technical degree or military equivalent.
- Universal refrigerant certification.
- Environment is normal for an office/lab setting.
- Physically capable of supporting hands‑on lab operations, including movement and management of large appliances such as refrigerators, automatic ice makers, and Monogram refrigerators.
- Occasional weekend work may be required.
