Senior Controls Engineer (Louisville, KY)

Position Type:
On‑site, primarily based in Louisville, KY. Travel up to 25% of the time and flexibility for support during weekends and off‑shifts may be required.

• Support capital equipment procurement projects from concept through production launch.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams in design, lean, quality, environmental, health & safety (EHS), procurement, and operations to support new product introductions.
• Provide control systems engineering support on projects across general automation, conveyance systems, packaging systems, customized fabrication equipment, plastics forming, and piercing automation.
• Review equipment supplier hardware and software designs and ensure compliance with internal standards.
• Provide input to GE Appliances standards updates.
• Prioritize safety by collaborating with EHS teams to ensure all processes and equipment protect the health and well‑being of our people.
• Collaborate with automation and robotics engineers to implement innovative, cost‑effective solutions.
• Support factory teams in installing, troubleshooting, and continuously improving new systems and equipment.

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related discipline, OR equivalent hands‑on experience in technical/manufacturing disciplines.
• 5+ years of relevant controls engineering experience with automated manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Proficiency with Rockwell Automation Control Logix/Compact Logix hardware & software, Studio 5000, and Factory Talk View.
• Knowledge of machine safety standards (ISO
  13849, ANSI/A3R15.06).
• Experience with controls programming languages such as structured text and function block diagrams (beneficial).
• Proficient in ladder logic for Rockwell, Emerson, and Siemens control systems.
• Experience in large‑scale manufacturing environments and capital equipment procurement.
• Strong communication skills, including project status reporting to cross‑functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex automation and controls challenges.
• Automation integration experience and proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD.
• Preferred: TUV Certification in Machine Safety.

This position is primarily based in Louisville, KY, with potential to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time. Primary shift is the first shift; occasional support during weekends and off‑shifts may be required.
