Principal Manufacturing Engineer – Stamping (100% Onsite)

The Manufacturing Engineer will support the AP2 factory for the Front Load Washer Program. Responsibilities include developing and managing supporting documents, projects, and operational readiness activities for the launch and production of the AP2 HA Washer Factory. The role serves as the primary liaison between the factory, equipment vendors, and cross‑functional teams, with a focus on Sheet Metal Transfer Stamping.
Responsibilities- Act as technical factory representative for all processes, attending cross‑functional meetings and design reviews for transfer stamping presses and auxiliary equipment.
- Create standardized work, maintenance procedures, TPM check‑lists, and training documents in collaboration with OEMs.
- Establish and monitor initial operational budgets for equipment, processes, and areas.
- Develop KPI tracking tools, contribute to AI implementations, and support DT initiatives.
- Prepare manufacturing and process areas for factory operations readiness.
- Apply problem‑solving techniques (8D, A3, 5‑Why) to propose and support KPI‑related projects across the AP2 factory.
- Support materials layout and AMR strategy with the Materials Team.
- Participate in factory‑wide KPI initiatives and projects as a cross‑functional member.
- Serve as point‑of‑contact for the Maintenance team regarding new equipment and develop preventative maintenance procedures with TPM and Maintenance teams.
- Support transfer stamping die maintenance and collaborate with the contract die maintenance team.
- Proven collaboration across all organizational levels to drive operational success and continuous improvement.

- Bachelor of Science in mechanical, electrical, manufacturing engineering, business, or a related scientific field.
- 5–7 years of engineering experience with automated manufacturing equipment, processes, and production systems.
- Leadership or technical proficiency in manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, materials management, quality, procurement, or fulfillment.
- Experience with large tonnage modern transfer stamping equipment, sheet feeders, part unload systems, and metal scrap conveyor systems.
- 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience with advanced automated stamping equipment and systems.
- Extensive experience in metal fabrication, component fastening, or automated equipment operations.
- Siemens PLC programming and troubleshooting/troubleshooting‑diagnostic experience.
- Six Sigma certification; strong knowledge of Lean, DMAIC, and other improvement methodologies.
- Track record of driving results through analytical methods, project scheduling, and teamwork.
Standard office and manufacturing environment. Tasks may involve lifting up to 25 pounds, wearing safety equipment (glasses, hearing protection, gloves, work shoes/boots), walking, standing, using stairs, cross‑overs, and ladders. Occasional weekend or evening work and up to 30% travel to plants, suppliers, and other sites.
