Senior Material Flow Analyst

Location:

USA, Louisville, KY

As the Senior Material Flow Analyst, you will develop and drive the vision of the Plant Materials Team to become a World‑Class Lean Operation. This includes driving Lean implementation such as Plan for Every Part (PFEP), Single Piece Flow (SPF), and other Lean principles.

Manufacturing Operations

Lead plant material flow & supplier management plans in support of the Appliance Production System (APS). Own and develop delivery plans, transportation plans, packaging plans, shop floor flow, and supermarket implementation for all parts.

Lead effort to meet or exceed key metrics including schedule achievement, product availability, headcount & overtime, mix & cycle time, RIP inventory, and transportation. Deploy standardized work within the materials department and drive process stability.

Interface with shop operations, quality, PMQE, sourcing, manufacturing engineering, and NPI implementation teams. Manage transportation and logistics costs to reduce inventory and improve productivity.

Develop and improve the IT tools and systems used in Materials to reduce costs and simplify processes.

Develop and lead senior management updates for key projects and initiatives. Champion Kaizen events and drive a problem‑solving culture within the team. Ensure safety compliance and manage safety action items.

Continuous Improvement

Live, promote, and teach the Appliance Production System philosophy. Drive continuous improvement and root‑cause identification within the value stream.

Engage cross‑functional escalation teams to address and resolve problems, and continuously work to reduce waste for short‑term and long‑term initiatives.

Lead regular meetings to review and prioritize department issues, assign ownership, and track items to closure.

Leadership

Provide day‑to‑day leadership for an integrated cross‑functional manufacturing team. Set goals, coach career development, conduct performance reviews, and conduct disciplinary investigations.

Recruit resources, mentor future leaders, and partner with HR to administer policies and processes.

Safety

Oversee safety performance, promote a safety‑minded culture, and maintain an active safety program with audits, 5S, and behavior‑based safety.

Manage accident investigations, root causal analysis, and corrective actions. Lead the safety action item list.

Quality

Ensure defect‑free production and adherence to specifications. Follow Manufacturing Control Plan and quality standards. Monitor manufacturing data and drive resolution for defects, scrap, and quality metrics.

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience in materials flow engineering, distribution, logistics, or supply chain with Lean supply chain production methods.
  • Strong computer skills including Robotic Languages, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
  • Ability to teach, facilitate meetings, provide constructive feedback, and effectively listen.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills in multi‑functional settings.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership influencing skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proven track record of achieving business goals and driving change implementation.
Preferred
  • Prior experience in manufacturing/plant operations.
  • Proven leadership skills and record of accomplishments with business impact.
  • Six Sigma certification.
Working Conditions

Normal office and manufacturing environment. May involve lifting up to 25 pounds and use of safety equipment (safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, work shoes/boots). Occasional weekend or evening work may be required.
