Location:

Louisville, KY, USA.

• Design and develop advanced Android applications for GE Appliances’ smart appliance systems.
• Maintain and improve existing Android applications.
• Ensure the software development process is followed and required documentation is produced.
• Architect end‑to‑end smart appliance solutions in a cross‑functional team.
• Develop detailed design and test specifications.
• Collaborate with platform leaders, product line design teams, industrial designers, and web teams to define new feature‑rich applications.
• Ensure application performance, quality, and responsiveness.

• Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience after earning a bachelor’s degree.
• At least 5 years of Android application development experience.
• At least 5 years of experience with UI/UX requirements, APIs, and mockups to build functional, high‑performance Android applications.
• At least 5 years of experience with formal software development processes, including agile.
• At least 5 years of experience with software development tools and languages, including Java.
• At least 5 years of experience with test‑driven development (TDD).
• At least 5 years of experience with code versioning tools, including Git.
• Experience developing Android applications that run on an embedded appliance system and interact with appliance controls and functionality.

Telecommuting is permitted. When not telecommuting, employees must report to the Haier US Appliance Solutions office in Louisville, Kentucky.
