Edison Engineering Development Program (EEDP) - Software - January 2027

Location:

Louisville, KY, USA

A 3-year entry-level rotational development program. Rotations last 4-6 times, each usually 6 months with one 12-month rotation. The program focuses on embedded software development using C, Lua, and JavaScript, working in bare-metal and RTOS environments, with a strong emphasis on Agile, TDD, CI, and IoT functionality.

• Develop production code in C and scripting code in Lua and JavaScript.
• Work in a resource-constrained environment, primarily bare metal; some projects use an RTOS.
• Use Git for version control.
• Apply Agile practices and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Participate in continuous integration for automated builds and issue detection.
• Implement 100% unit-tested code and perform bench-testing.
• Support Software Quality Assurance and collaborate with QA teams.
• Participate in daily software team activities: scoping work, identifying requirements, designing, coding, and reviewing.
• Serve as a mentor and buddy for software co-ops.

• Bachelor’s degree or better in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering field.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (out of 4.0).
• Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
• Completion of a GE Appliances-sponsored Master's degree if not already earned.
• Relevant technical coursework completed.

• Completed two or more co-op rotations or internships prior to graduation.
