Position

Position Edison Engineering Development Program (EEDP) - Software - July 2027.

Location:

Louisville, KY.

• Participate in a 3-year entry‑level rotational development program.
• Develop production code in C and create tooling scripts in Lua and JavaScript.
• Work in a resource‑constrained, mostly bare‑metal environment; some projects use an RTOS.
• Utilize Git for version control and follow Agile practices.
• Apply Test‑Driven Development (TDD) and continuous integration (CI) to deliver high‑quality code on schedule.
• Collaborate in everyday software team activities: scoping work, identifying requirements, designing, implementing fully unit‑tested code, bench‑testing, and supporting Software Quality Assurance.
• Rotate through 4–6 teams, usually 6‑month rotations with one 12‑month rotation.
• Mentor software co‑ops as a “buddy.”
• Receive targeted training from seasoned engineers while working on projects.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Cumulative GPA ≥ 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

• Passion for software and strong desire to learn.
• Solid analytical skills, strong work ethic, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Completed two or more co‑op rotations or internships prior to graduation (related coursework).

• Flexible work arrangement negotiated with leadership.
• Completion of a GE‑Appliances‑sponsored master’s degree required for those without one.
