HVAC Technician

Duties include the installation, repair, and troubleshooting of both heating and air conditioning HVAC systems.

Minimum Qualifications

Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services. When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.

The chosen candidate must obtain a CDL permit within 90 days of appointment and CDL B license with no air brake restriction prior to completion of probation and continuously maintain license thereafter or face possible disciplinary action up to and including termination. The preferred candidates will have experience working under a journey-level HVAC tradesman or have apprenticeship training the HVAC trade.

Preferred experience includes the installation, repair, and troubleshooting of commercial HVAC systems. The preferred candidates will also have some experience in other recognized skilled trades such as electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.

The salary range for this position includes all applicable annual components of pay which are:
Base Pay: $29.51 hiring rate up to $31.95 job rate Location Pay: $0.85 for Mid-Hudson Recruitment & Retention Pay: $3.37 Eligibility for employment:
