Location: Newbury, Berkshire

Salary: £37,000 - £52,000 OTE + Uncapped Bonus

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (30-minute lunch)

About the Role

A leading automotive retailer is seeking an experienced Diagnostic Technician to join its established workshop team in Newbury. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled technician with strong fault-finding abilities to develop their career within a professional dealership environment, offering ongoing training, career progression and uncapped earning potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine vehicle servicing and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer standards.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical and electronic vehicle faults.
  • Perform detailed vehicle health checks and provide accurate diagnostic reports.
  • Conduct air conditioning servicing and repairs.
  • Complete MOT-related repairs and general workshop repairs.
  • Investigate and rectify vehicle electrical system faults using diagnostic equipment.
  • Carry out welding repairs when required.
  • Source and order parts required to complete repairs efficiently.
  • Liaise with customers when appropriate, providing updates on vehicle repairs and technical findings.
  • Maintain accurate workshop documentation and job records.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety standards.
Requirements
  • Relevant automotive qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a Diagnostic Technician within a dealership or professional workshop environment.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding expertise, particularly with electrical systems.
  • Experience using manufacturer diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
