What We Are Looking For
Next Care Urgent Care seeks an energetic and enthusiastic Medical Assistant, friendly to customers, passionate, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced, team environment where patients and employees are top priority.
- Assist provider with exams (including patient vitals), procedures, and other patient care tasks under direct supervision and within scope of practice.
- Administer medications per policy and provider direction, following all safety protocols.
- Perform blood draws as directed by provider.
- Collect urine for various tests, including employer drug screens.
- Perform splinting and casting.
- Conduct sports physicals and other physical evaluations.
- Provide urgent‑care specific duties such as ear lavage, wound care, and oxygen administration.
- Promptly notify provider of unusual patient events and complete incident reports.
- Notify Clinic Manager of patient or employee safety concerns.
- Follow laboratory and clinical accreditation guidelines.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned or described by company policy.
Front‑office duties may include: informing patients of wait times, monitoring patient flow, processing discharges (preparing charges, collecting payment, obtaining signatures, issuing receipts).
How You Will Make An ImpactThe Medical Assistant supports the organization through superior customer service, respecting all patients, and ensuring a smoothly running clinic and front‑reception area. They help maintain patient flow and deliver patient‑care services that meet each patient’s needs.
Essential Education, Experience, and SkillsEducation: Minimum of a high‑school diploma or equivalent;
and
- Completed an approved (accredited) Medical Assistant training program.
- OR completed an unapproved (non‑accredited) program and obtained national certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA).
- OR worked as a Medical Assistant for one year or more after training, or has verifiable supervised experience for at least 2000 hours.
Other MA education or experience may be considered upon review and approval from Compliance and Regulatory.
