Auto Body Technician
Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking an Auto Body Technician to provide exceptional customer experience through meticulous assessment and repair of each vehicle to restore it to pre-accident condition.
Key Job Responsibilities- Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
- Plan repair work, prepare cost estimates, and use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers.
- Remove dents, dimples, and other minor body damage; mix and apply filler resins when needed.
- Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
- Remove damaged sections and replace with new or aftermarket parts; replace or repair glass and windshields as required.
- Replace or repair interior parts as needed.
- Weld, attach, or fit parts; prepare and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint or agreed-upon equivalents.
- Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles after repair to ensure quality.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a technical school program OR a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
- Read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate effectively with other repairers in the shop.
- Understand methods and procedures for repairing vehicle bodies.
- Know how to use trade tools safely and efficiently.
- Work safely in a noisy area with many odors.
- Lift up to 30 pounds at times.
- Visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
- Bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
$21.00 – $31.00 Flat Rate, performance-based structure tied to turned hours. Guaranteed minimum wage if compensated below local or state minimum and additional bonuses may apply.
